Closure - COVID-19
Following the latest government guidance, JJ Thompson closed on 24th March for three weeks.
We had a skeleton staff in the lab, receiving and casting any remaining ‘in transit’ impressions. These staff remained in place to complete orders for pressure formed retainers up until Friday 3rd April, and have now been furloughed.
What about work already in the lab?
Study models - all impressions have been cast and are waiting for bases to complete the sets.
Clear Aligners - we suggest that patients who are part way through their Clear Aligner treatment wear the last aligner in the series as a retainer until we are in position to continue the course.
Removable and functional appliances - we do have models waiting for appliance construction, and we will complete work on these as soon as we get back.
We can provide practices with a list of live work, allowing clinicians to choose whether to continue with manufacturing these models. You may prefer to take new imps/scans once we are all back to work.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience our closure causes, however we need to have the health of our staff and their families at the centre of our interests. We also believe we need to do our part in preventing the spread of Covid-19.
Thank you for your understanding.
We are still here if you have any additional questions. You can contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
